IT Manager

Information systems are a vital part of the day-to-day operations of Newtrax. As such, the Information Services (IS) group has the responsibility to ensure that Newtrax’s information systems are kept available, up-to-date, secure and can pass an IT security audit one would expect from a major client.

The IT Manager will be responsible to manage the implementation and audit of IS policies and processes required to support the profitable growth of the company. The candidate will lead a small team of IT specialists that install and maintain corporate and personal IT hardware and software systems and provides technical advice, training and support to system users.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in managing a small team of IT professionals and a proven history of progressive, professional experience and a detailed knowledge of the IT and mining industries’ best practices and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for maintaining safe work environments within his team and takes responsibility for safety while off the work premises. Takes specific interest in safety cultures and practices at customer sites and vendor workplaces for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible forimplementing and maintaining the organization’s Information Technology infrastructure.
  • Responsible for, in collaboration with other stakeholders (HQ, regions, customers…), the collection of functional IT requirements, design of IT architecture, create development and/or integration strategies, implement and coordinate IT systems.
  • Establishes policies to support the strategies set by top management.
  • Ensures the security of internal and external data through appropriate tools and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, security of access and disaster recovery.
  • Experience in implementing, and maintaining an organization’s cybersecurity plan, including Incident Response.
  • Continually develop and transfer best IT practices knowledge internally.
  • Maintains IT hardware and software assets available and up-to-date to ensure maximum efficiency of users.
  • Recommends and/or identifies efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in IT
  • 3+ years’ in a similar role overseeing a team of IT professionals
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network and corporate software installation (both on premise and in the cloud)
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • Experience in high-growth business and software development environment an asset

  • Assurer la sécurité du milieu de travail pour son équipe et prendre en charge la sécurité lorsqu’en dehors du lieu de travail. S’intéresser tout particulièrement aux cultures et aux pratiques en matière de sécurité aux sites du client et aux lieux de travail des fournisseurs aux fins d’amélioration continue.

EXIGENCES

Data Warehouse Architect

Location : Montreal

The Data Warehouse Architect will be responsible for designing and deploying a real-time data warehouse. A successful candidate understands enterprise data warehouse architecture, industry standards and data governance. The candidate will also identify and implement master data management in areas of need, to facilitate the combination of disparate data from multiple systems. The candidate must understand underlying warehouse technology, including setup, tuning and administration, identify necessary security and audit controls, and have a deep understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling as it crosses all areas of the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Establish organization’s data warehousing strategy, set infrastructure standards and best
  • practices
  • Work with our development team to research a proper deployment process.

Technical Writer

In your role, you will provide high quality technical documentation for all Newtrax Technologies products and solutions.  You will be working closely with the Product Owners, QA personnel and the R&D teams to ensure that user interface text, online help and guides appropriate to the intended audience is produced.  You will participate in all scrum related ceremonies for all the R&D teams for Newtrax and ensure that documentation tasks assigned to you are prioritized and scheduled appropriately.  Your understanding of UX/UI will be of great value to the team when designing new features or improving existing products.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
  • Produce world class documentation that meet applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation

Technical Support Specialist

Technical Support Specialist

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

In your role, you will provide technical support to Newtrax clients and personnel.  You will be called upon to ensure that all tickets logged in the Newtrax support system recording technical support provided by you and other Newtrax personnel is up to date and accurate.  You will be providing support by phone and email adhering to the response and resolution timeframes as per the published Newtrax policies.

Your office hours will be flexible and will be expected to overlap with as many of the Newtrax regional offices as possible with the bulk of the hours corresponding with either the Montreal or Vancouver offices.  You can be based anywhere in Canada and will be expected to attend training sessions in Montreal to gain the internal knowledge required for the role and to bond with the team.

You may also be called upon to provide basic training to Newtrax personnel new to the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Technical Support and Internal Training – 80-90% of logged time

  • Provide first and second level support where the questions are within your field of expertise.
  • Escalate tickets to second and third level support where applicable within the time frames published in the Newtrax support policies.
  • Liaise with 3rd level support providers and clients to facilitate easy and quick resolution as far as possible.
  • Liaise with RMA team to ensure RMA statuses are monitored and communicated to the personnel responsible for the next steps.
  • Ensure that all tickets logged into the Newtrax support system as completed and accurately updated.
  • Ensure that all tickets logged out of time zone or assigned to personnel currently unavailable is assigned to other support providers and liaise with client and internal personnel to ensure resolution.
  • Where requested, create reports and exports from the Newtrax support system to inform sales and services/deployment personnel of the current state of support tickets logged for a specific client.
  • Internal training will be a small part of the logged time only. It is expected that some of this may entail travel to Newtrax offices, but most will be in the form of small online sessions or recorded videos or webinars.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

WORK ENVIRONMENT

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
