Technical Writer

Location : Montreal, Quebec, Canada

In your role, you will provide high quality technical documentation for all Newtrax Technologies products and solutions.  You will be working closely with the Product Owners, QA personnel and the R&D teams to ensure that user interface text, online help and guides appropriate to the intended audience is produced.  You will participate in all scrum related ceremonies for all the R&D teams for Newtrax and ensure that documentation tasks assigned to you are prioritized and scheduled appropriately.  Your understanding of UX/UI will be of great value to the team when designing new features or improving existing products.


  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
  • Produce world class documentation that meet applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
  • Create tutorials for end-users, write online help, training documents and operation guides
  • Collaborate with Engineering team to obtain an in-depth understanding of our products and the documentation requirements
  • Create and maintain the information architecture for internal use – Ex: Google Drive
  • Review datasheet produced by PO for release to the marketing team
  • Occasional travel may occur


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Language Studies (with a strong interest in technologies)
  • Proven working experience in technical writing position for software documentation
  • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attached to detail
  • Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable through documentation with text and pictures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong knowledge of at least one help system management tool (such as MadCap Flare)
  • Liaise with Translation contractors
  • Strong attention to details
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Familiar with the SDLC and software development
  • Familiar with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Familiar with mining or construction terminology will be a distinct asset
