R&D Electronics Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible of managing the manufacturing of prototypes and pre-production batches related to new product introduction

  • Responsible of transferring and maintaining the engineering documentation using the PLM/BOM management system

  • Lead the transition of new products from development to production

  • As a member of the product development team, assemble and test various prototypes used for development and for proof-of- concept demos

  • Build, setup and maintain equipment to be used for software development, integration testing, system testing and manufacturing testing

  • Use standard and specialised test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyser) to test and investigate issues with new products or products used in development

  • Assist the team with new products design validation

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Soldering (wires, components)

  • Understanding of schematics, circuit diagrams, PCB drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • System troubleshooting (hardware, software, mechanic)

  • Using test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyser

  • Curious

  • Creative, ability to think outside the box

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with evolving technologies

  • Methodical, organised and responsive

  • Good planning and effort estimation skills

  • Spoken and written English and French

  • Asset: Knowledge of PLM/BOM management systems such as Omnify

  • Asset: Experience with electronic manufacturing process

  • Asset: Programming skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical degree (CEGEP) in electronics or equivalent

  • 2 years of pertinent experience

  • Experience in high-growth high-tech companies (asset).
  • Experience in globally distributed teams (asset).
