Byrnecut Australia Signs Second Major Order With Newtrax Technologies for Proximity Detection Solution

Byrnecut Sings deal with Newtrax Golden Grove

Perth, Australia – September 29, 2017 — Newtrax Technologies Inc. (‘Newtrax’) – the leading provider of safety and operations management systems for underground hard rock mines – has received a second significant order from Byrnecut, the largest mechanised underground mining contractor in Australia.

Byrnecut Australia has placed a second order for Newtrax Proximity Warning devices to install on 51 mobile equipment. The Newtrax Safety solution will be deployed at EMR Capital’s Golden Grove mine.

Golden Grove is a base and precious metals mine located in Western Australia, Australia. Its two underground mines produce zinc in zinc concentrate, copper in copper concentrate and a high precious metals (HPM) concentrate using sub-level stoping.

Golden Grove produced 38,128 tonnes of zinc and 12,194 tonnes of copper in 2016.

“Newtrax is excited and proud to be partnering once again with Byrnecut – Australia’s leading underground mining contractor – on their continued mission and safety commitment. The implementation of Newtrax’s industry-leading safety solution at EMR Capital’s Golden Grove mine will be a great addition to our growing roster of leading underground hard rock mining clients worldwide,” said Simon Waghorn, APAC Regional Vice President, Newtrax.

The Newtrax Proximity Warning & Collision Avoidance system was developed to help mine operators enhance awareness and improve safety in the dark and remote areas of underground mines. It allows for the detection of pedestrians, trucks, and any obstacles that may come in the way of an LHD bucket, which is a blind spot that can’t be covered with cameras.

System implementation is expected to begin in October of this year and will be rolled out over an extended project period.
